Surrounded by prints and paintings in his childhood home Thomas started painting in his early twenties after finding his parents old tubes of oil paints and brushes. There began an experiment which takes him to the present day. Working through studies of figures and images he found in magazines such as The Economist and Newsweek Thomas developed a clear understanding of form and perspective while also giving a social and political angle to his work. Honing his skills outside the walls of formal artistic institutions Thomas continues to draw or paint every day and has built up a strong range of works in his own unique visual language while also paying reference to the foundations of art history.
He currently lives and works in Bristol and has exhibited throughout the UK, Europe and the United States.
