Falling off the Edge of the Stage
The latest painting in Thomas' series 'Paintings of Self-Redemption', Falling off the Edge of the Stage employs three figures to discuss the subject of creativity, self-identity and the quest for self understanding, originality and artistic success. In the central left hand plane an abstrct, reclining figure is suspended from a circular table which hangs from the ceiling via three cables. To the right hand centre plane a blue character sits observing the other figures. Below and to the bottom left hand diagonal an abstrcat pink figure lays, head down in the shadows of the theatrical stage.
