The City Has Eyes
The City Has Eyes is the first of Dowdeswell's Vortescapes and is noticeable as it is the only one which focuses solely on the city and remains devoid of people. The painting started off as a doodle when the artist was staring out of the window of his house on a rainy autumn day and has developed to encompass his current focus on the urban landscape. It is a story about the buildings we inhabit and depend upon and the lives which unfold around us where many peoples stories, their hopes and dreams, remain known only to the walls which surround them.
